SITE NAME: Snow King Mountain--Panorama House
RATING: Paragliding Class 2, J.H. Paragliding Club Membership.
WIND: N
DESCRIPTION:   1680 ft. vertical ridge and thermal afternoon site.
 Launch between 3-8 P.M.just west of Panorama House.
ACCESS:  Walk up Snow King Ski Area cat-tracks.
HAZARDS:   Low clearance launch.  Rotors with west-shifting winds.
 Land in Town of Jackson.

SITE NAME: Snow King Mountain--Scotty's Ridge
RATING: Paragliding Class 2, J.H. Paragliding Club Membership.
WIND: NW
DESCRIPTION:   1300 ft. vertical ridge and thermal afternoon site,
half mile west of Panorama House on Snow King Mountain.  Launch
between 3-8 P.M.
ACCESS:  Walk up.
HAZARDS:   Low clearance launch.  Rotors with west-shifting winds.
 Land in Town of Jackson.

SITE NAME: Snow King Mountain--Haystack Butte
RATING: Paragliding Class 2
WIND: Soaring - 12 -15 MPH at launch; Rotor conditions if higher.
DESCRIPTION: Steep Sagebrush hill. 1300 ft. vertical.  Evening Site.
Ridge Lift.  
ACCESS: 1 Mile S. Jackson, WY on US Hwy. 89; Walk up
HAZARDS: Small hillside landing zones between power lines.  Crosswinds;
often north towards evening.  Catabatic winds at sunset.

SITE NAME:  Phillips Ridge
RATING: Paragliding Class 2, J.H. Paragliding Club Membership.
WIND: SE
DESCRIPTION: Mid-day thermal site.  Trans-Teton and over Grand
Teton thermal flights initiated here.  Pre-frontal.
ACCESS: Four wheel drive access via Wilson-Teton Pass Wyo. Hwy
22.
HAZARDS: Class 2 Launch faces SE; prevailing usually SW.  Launchable
mornings and early afternoons until about 12 P.M. when prevailing
wind not creating rotor conditions.  Small bullet thermals with
turbulence associated with thermals converging from adjacent canyons.
 Launch between and above Aspen groves with low clearance.

SITE NAME: Jackson Hole Ski Resort at Teton Village
RATING: Paragliding Class 2, J.H. Paragliding Club Membership.
WIND: S, SE or N launches.
DESCRIPTION: Summer thermal and winter pre-frontal ridge lift.
ACCESS: 4100 ft. vertical 2.5 mile aerial tramway in ski and summer
seasons.  Launches from Rendesvous Bowl, Tower 3-Grand, Cajun
Coulior.
HAZARDS:  Often shut down by SW and W prevailing and associated
rotor conditions.   Small obstructed Class 2 only landing sites
in summer.
SITE NAME:  Grand Targhee Ski Area
RATING: Paragliding Class 2, J.H. Paragliding Club Membership
WIND: W.  12-15 MPH Soaring ridge and thermal lift.  Rotor likely
if higher.
DESCRIPTION:   West facing, 2200 ft. vertical.  
ACCESS: Ski lift access from Grand Targhee Ski Area and J.H. Paragliding
Club.   
HAZARDS: Turbulence and high sink rates possible at landing on
high hilly plateau.
